Hi everyone!

A week ago I finished this book for a blog tour that the Me, Myshelf and I blog hosted.
So let’s start with the review! I know I’m late for the tour but I had some blog related problems and so I decided to post it anyway!

  • Genre: fantasy (and for me YA and paranormal too)
  • Published: in 2015 by Two Petals Publishing
  • Pages: 292
  • Edition: only kindle or ebook

  • My rating: 7 out of 10 (you’ll se why next)
  • Favourite quote:

“Upon reaching the preserve, everyone knew that the explanation of this incident was dreadfully imminent. With parents already on edge, the looming task of crafting a story out of thin air was one that was not only sickening, but would place a larger wedge between father and son.”

  • Plot: The story’s small town of Danville Heights, a carefully crafted universe, contrasts with the dark, gloomy town of Sandry Lake, where evil abounds. Upon the boys’ mysterious incident with the energy source, they’re instinctively called to Sandry Lake to root out evil. Their senses guide them each time. However, secrecy about their mission, furious battles with evil thugs, extreme fatigue, and stress and pressure soon overwhelm the boys, but they must find a way to embrace their fate. A lurking, Dark Stranger seems to know their plight, and a strikingly beautiful, fearless girl lends way to heightened confusion. Shocking details about these two characters, and the evil antagonist, the dreaded Druth, twist and grind the story even further. Despite tension and fierce battles, will the boys hold it together long enough to fulfill their destiny? Intriguing, intelligent, and full of action, The Urban Boys: Discovery of the Five Senses offers a memorable, emotion-packed, thrilling ride for young and mature readers alike!
  • Review: I liked this book for the way it’s written and for the plot but maybe the genre is not too much for me. Anyway I give it a 7 out of 10 => 4 out of 5 on goodreads because I like action and I know it’s a very good book. The main characters are Jordan, Rhee, Kinsu, Chase, and Alex some high school friends that after an accident they get powers so they start to battle the evils bonded together with the powers that are the five senses (one for each). I liked the character development, thematics and the way you can easily view each scene thanks to the detailed descriptions! I didn’t like as well the difference between the POVs because I had some problems to distinguish them and it slowed down sometimes.
  • I recommend it to those who like action and fantasy.
